David Berkowitz was born in the 1940's and committed the majority of his crimes towards the end of the 1970's. He grew up at a rough patch in history, a time period in which many wars were being fought. He lived through World War II, although i am pretty sure he is too young to remember it, but that could have caused stress on his envionrment growing up. Also a more important war, he lived through the Vietnam War and all the consequences it brought about in the United States. It caused a severe amount of stress on the people having to watch the media brutalize the troops by showing the horrendous things that were going on in that country, stress on the ecnomoy because we really lost the war, and stress on everything else. It would not be an ideal time for me to want to gorw up in, especially in a major city.
